Spax was founded in 1967, it was the birth of a global brand, which over the past 40 years has become the epitome of the most modern universal screws for domestic and industrial use. It was the first screw worldwide that could be used without a hole having been bored first. They also discovered a new force transmission, the cross recess. The word Spax comes from the first 3 letters of the German word “Spanplattenschrauben” (chipboard screw) and the “X” from the cross recess. From the very beginning, the new brand name didn’t just have a trade name and a logo, it was always packaged in green packaging. Recognising the trade name was to be the foundation of future success for the worldwide known product. more text
