In 1932 Albert J. Dremel founded the Dremel Company in Racine, Wisconsin. Today the name has become a brand name for power tools and sometimes tools from other manufacturers are even called Dremel. The company became widely known through its hand tools which enabled fine working for example in modelmaking. Similar to dental technology, the fast rotating tools are guided along the workpiece by hand. Doing this means the engine speed can be adjusted. Dremel is now a subsidary of Robert Bosch GmbH.
